Here's the sneak peak of what is coming at bel kai designs . . . stay tuned in the next couple of weeks. I'm so giddy about this, it may be sooner. And there's a story here, too.

my boys

We are enjoying a beee-autiful day and one of Lance's last days off work for a bit. I have the cutest boys ever and can hardly believe we're going to add another one to the mix soon! I am so outnumbered...

b.u.s.y. weekend

We had a very busy weekend - lots of time with friends...a family movie night with friends on Friday, bowling on Saturday and a baby shower. I managed to fit in a massage, coffee & pastry and some thrift/vintage store shopping on Saturday which made for some nice alone time and a lovely morning out. Bowling...I can't remember the last time I went bowling. I always forget how much fun it is - and adding toddlers makes it a pretty funny event.

I think I am still a few weeks away from unveiling some new items & designs that have been growing in my mind for the past few months. But, because I'm excited and I think you will l.o.v.e. them, I may just give you a sneak peak this week...we'll see...keep checking back.

morning at the park

We had a nice morning today playing at the park with friends, even though the Southern California weather has been a little disappointing this week.

I feel like I am really slowing down and taking the time to savor my alone time with E these days...won't be long until that time will be divided and I'm not quite ready for that yet. I can't wait to meet the little guy on his way. . . and I find myself wondering lots about what he'll look like . . . will he inherit the dent in his chin from me like E did? Will he also be blessed with his dada's curly locks? {oh, I hope so} And lately...my question to other mamas who have had more than one pregnancy and have something to compare to is whether or not they think all the kicking during pregnancy reflect the baby's activity level after they're born? We are hoping for another easy baby just like E was, but if all this activity in the womb is an indicator...we're in trouble. I'm getting beat up over here. I'm sometimes amazed I'm still standing after some of the kicks I've felt. I can't imagine what it will feel like in 2 months if he reaches close to 9 lbs, like E.

Speaking of pregnancy, how cute is this blog? A proud dada and photographer is taking weekly photos of his wife as she progresses in her pregnancy - what a neat memento for them & the baby. (spotted on design mom)

link love

Thank you to the droolicious blog over at Babble.com for the lovely write-up on Bel Kai Designs...

I love their blog - the editors are always finding and reviewing great new products I have yet to see, which is kind of amazing, because I'm nosy and all over the place online. The droolicious blog is just a small part of babble.com -- if you are a parent, you should visit - and visit often. The writing is far superior to much that is out there today (ahem...like in those doctor's office parenting magazines...you know the ones I'm talking about...the ones that recycle the same articles over and over again). In the last few weeks alone, I have stumbled onto articles on babble.com that have been a welcome break in my busy day - interesting, practical & informative, laugh-out-loud funny...if you're looking for a good place to start, try the bad parent column - it always provides a good laugh and interesting perspective.

Thanks again, droolicious!

starling diner....

...just one of the things I {love} about Long Beach. My friend introduced me to this quaint little diner snuggled in the midst of a neighborhood only about a mile and a half from my house. On my first visit, she insisted we share the Breakfast Bruschetta, which is basically slices of heaven on a plate. The coffee is the yummiest {& strongest} cup I've had anywhere in the city. And, their Broiled San Francisco Stuffed Toast has won awards for being the best French Toast in all of Southern California. I have to agree...I just tried it on one of my last visits - and it just might have put an end to the constant dilemma every time I walk into a breakfast eatery - sweet or savory?

Are you salivating yet? Well, I guess it is quite obvious that a pregnant woman is writing this. If, by chance, you know of copy-kat recipes for these deee-lish dishes, please send them my way!

Had a wonderful time with our family here. We're missing them lots already and they've only been gone 9 hours. This is a picture of me and my sis-in-law...more photos to come...
